Family day at Fort Union

We all made a trek to Fort Union Trading Post this weekend to check out the site.

It was a beautiful day, and there aren't many of those left in 2012, so it seemed like a good day for an outing.

The view of Fort Union from the walkway up to the site.

Entering through the Front Gate.

Cameron, Maia, and Bria getting the stamp in our National Park Passport. That thing gets a lot of mileage!

Checking out the part of the fort that was once the stores.

While the fort was in use, from 1828 to 1867, this area housed the meat, furs, and food items of those who lived there.

"It's so roomy in here, we can all fit!" Bria announced. So, of course, they had to try.
